William Albert Ehlke, 82, of North Carolina, formerly of Elyria, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2004, at Community Memorial Healthcenter in Virginia.
He was employed as a supervisor by Englehard Chemical Corp. in Ohio before retiring. Mr. Ehlke served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth (nee Nichols); daughter, Sandra Woolfenden of Fairfax; son, Thomas W. Ehlke of Elyria; and six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Lillian Ehlke; and a brother, Richard Ehlke.
Graveside memorial service will be at 9 a.m. Saturday in LaPorte Cemetery, Butternut Ridge Road, Carlisle Township, with the Rev. Jonathan McCleery, pastor of LaPorte United Methodist Church, and American Legion Post 12 officiating.
A family gathering with friends will be held following the service at LaPorte United Methodist Church, 2071 Grafton Road, Elyria.
